Benzinga's Top Downgrades
Had it´s earnings released yesterday, not as the market expected, but it was trading at a long term support level, had pre-market volume and trading below after-hours range.




Watch List Reason - Earnings released yesterday and pre-market volume at a support level
Pre-Market Volume - 44%
Trading Plan - Go long if hold above 26.00

Management

Entry Setup used: First entry was based on a flag play that failed. Second entry was on a held bid @ 26.00.


Trading Comments

Tape reading helped to identify the held bid at the 26.00 level.
Also it was a good decision to take some risk off, as the flag play failed. Target for the trade was 27.00 but I got out before that for no reason (other than to take profits)

Evaluation

The entry was a good one, but I was not too happy about my exit. The plan was to hold for a target at 27.00, that would´ve been reached. Had to keep in mind to adjust stops instead of taking profits this fast.
Still it was a great trade. I had it under control and within my risk parameters for the day.

SPY - Not much has changed from the morning view, as the market is acting as expected, continuing the up move. Seems to be respecting a 5 minute channel up. This is our first reference point. The second most important reference for this up move is the longer trend up. As long as this line is respected, the bullish bias will continue.

MARKET CONDITIONS

World Markets News: Asian markets finished higher today with shares in Hong Kong leading the region. European markets are higher today with shares in France leading the region. Germany is also positive. Suggesting markets will open positive here too.

Economic Calendar



SPY - Consolidating above previous range and in trend mode. If the consolidation is a flag, market has to  break yesterday´s high and continue with a strong up move and is the most expected scenario. If we fail to break up, prices may go back and test the base of the consolidation or the previous range high, have to wait and see. As long we are above the longer trend line up, the bias is bullish overall.
Bias: Neutral to Bullish

MARKET CONDITIONS



SPY - Market is still holding above the previous range in a consolidation and in trend up mode. The shorter trend line up was tested and held, but market was not ready to continue the up move as expected. We are still bullish waiting for the market to break the flag up. The bias will only change to bearish if the longer trend line is broken.
Bias: Bullish
Accuracy: 100%

PM Stock Selection Sheet download - most of the stocks moved sideways today. Not much during the morning session and no momentum plays (no order flow). For the afternoon we select the first 20 stocks to trade and set up alerts.

MARKET CONDITIONS

World Markets News: Asian markets finished broadly higher today with shares in Japan leading the region.European markets are higher today with shares in Germany leading the region. Germany is the strong economy, so it is important.

SPY - Is consolidating above the previous broken range and in trend move. Yesterday was a sideways day, after a strong up move. As long we respect the smaller trend line up, market has momentum up. Markets around the world are positive and SPY is gaping up, so we expect the up move to continue. If smaller trend is broken, the trend is still up. For this to change the longer trend line must be broken. The size of the broken range projected up is the expected move.

MARKET CONDITIONS



SPY - Market is holding above the range in what appears to be a flag above the range. Market is in trend mode, so this flag is reliable. The first trend line up (smaller one) is a lower time frame trend and as long as it is respected, we have a momentum going up. If this trend line is broken, we are still up trending (because of the longer trend line), but we have lost the strong momentum up, suggesting a slower up move. Either way it is a bullish scenario. The only reason to change to a more bearish situation is if the market goes back inside the previous range below 160.00.
Bias: Bullish

World Markets News: Asian markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices.European markets are lower today as French and German shares fall. Holiday in UK and beware of President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi before market opens.

SPY - After the consolidation close to the top of the range, market has broken up. This is good for buyers and market is in trend mode, so favoring long positions is a good idea. As long we are respecting the trend line up, market is likely to continue moving in this direction. If trend line is broken and we are back inside the range, this would be the 2nd fail to break up the range, so keep that in mind.
